Cyber Teacher of the Year Presidential Award Nominee

Ben Crenshaw is a Cyber expert working at Oracle as a Senior Vulnerability Analyst. He also teaches Cyber in the Canyons School District where he navigates students through the current trends in information assurance, ethical hacking, and digital forensics. Ben holds over 20 industry certifications including Cisco, CompTia, and Ec-Council certificates and has a Masters Degree in Cyber and Information Assurance. He is also an active member of the Utah chapter of ISACA and CSTA and enjoys participating in IT Security conferences across the United States . . . including DefCon. His hobbies include Chess, short story writing, and listening to audio books. He is excited to teach and introduce Teachers to the high-demand career opportunities securing computer systems, networking and cyber.

Is this Externship for teachers who are new to Cyber?

Yes, this Externship is for any teacher new or recently introduced to teaching Cybersecurity or those who want to improve their Cybersecurity pathway. There are no prerequisites to joining this program. We will give you all the tools, knowledge and skills needed to succeed.

Can I attend if I have no computer science knowledge?

We understand that Cyber teachers come from different backgrounds. Our training and software is designed to be easy to use for new teachers with a learn as you go approach.

Is this a middle or high school level curriculum?

This curriculum is designed for both middle and high school and is tailored to address both age levels who are beginning to intermediate level in Cyber.

Can I network with the other teachers I meet?

Yes, networking is a vital piece of the ongoing support and teachers will have exclusive access via an internal forum to continually connect and support one another. This will include regularly scheduled monthly meetings where teachers will learn about new insights and techniques from our team and industry professionals.

How long does it take to learn how to use your software and curriculum?

This software is meant to be turnkey so that you can easily follow along and learn as you go. We call this every day PD! It takes the pressure off teachers new to the content to give them confidence each day in class.

Is this curriculum updated?

Yes, our curriculum will continue to be updated with the latest threat and defense updates, helping you to stay current with your Cyber teaching.

Do you provide onboarding, tech support & continued training?

Yes, we provide ongoing tech and school year support. Each lesson comes with 10 minutes of recorded built in support. We provide the initial onboarding of our software during the Externship and offer continued tech support as needed throughout the year. Continued training is scheduled and you are part of a support network from our team and everyone you meet on the externship.
