“All the world’s a stage” as Shakespeare says, but where better to experience that than in London? We give the grand tour of London’s Theatre scene, with some exciting enhancements along the way. Start by getting acquainted with the city on a guided sightseeing tour and taking a ride above it all on the London Eye. Explore London’s cosmopolitan neighborhoods, including Borough Market*, set at the crossing point of the River Thames, the London Bridge. Watch the ceremonial Changing of the Guard, where the New Guard marches in, accompanied by a band of the finest military musicians, taking over the responsibility of guarding Buckingham Palace from the Old Guard. Visit the National Gallery, overflowing with artistic masterpieces, dating back to medieval times.
Simultaneously of literary and theatrical significance, the historical landmarks left behind by William Shakespeare are internationally famous today. On a day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon, students get to visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare on Henley Street. There’s also a visit to what’s known as the cottage of Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway. While wandering these homes, imagine what inspired the clever words that live on in Shakespeare’s plays today. Back in London on the banks of the River Thames take a guided tour of the Globe Theatre, where many of Shakespeare’s plays were designed and first performed.

Stroll along “The Queen’s Walk” on the South Bank of the Thames Path, following the riverside route busy with foot traffic of locals and visitors alike. In Covent Garden, we give students free time to enjoy the street performance as well as this desination’s heritage. On another day trip out of London, travel to Bath to see the elegant and distinct architecture of the city, including the Roman Baths and the Royal Crescent. The high society in the city of Bath is portrayed in novels and plays by Jane Austen, Richard Brinsley Sheridan and more. Journey back in time to experience one of the still hidden mysteries of human history, Stonehenge. Since no conclusive purpose has been discovered for this prehistoric stone circle, the guesses are endless. Perhaps it is a druidic temple, a burial ground or a meeting place of ancient societies, but truly anything is possible!

Start the day watching the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside Buckingham Palace to brilliant fanfare. Later, set off on an exploration of London’s markets, starting with the fresh produce of Borough Market, then heading to the thousands of shops at Camden Market and end at the world’s largest antiques market, Portobello Road Market. Afterwards, enjoy free time in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, perhaps visiting Harrods, before team games in Hyde Park.
Venture out of London today to Stratford-upon-Avon, touring this Tudor market town, the birthplace of poet and playwright, William Shakespeare. Visit the restored 16th-century timbered house where Shakespeare was born, and explore the cottage once owned by Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway.
Continuing the Shakespeare theme, start off on a guided tour of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre with an opportunity to catch one of their many performances.
This morning, attend a West End Workshop on General Drama, where students work on improvisation skills, character building, text and voice. Following this, take a talking tour of the West End. Later, visit the Barbican Center, a world-class arts and learning center, hosting a program of talks and performances at their Hub. Attend a West End show in the evening.
In the morning, visit one of London’s greatest museums, the Natural History Museum or the Science Museum. Our second West End workshop focuses on a West End show, working on scenes, choreography or staging. During free time, watch the street performers in Covent Garden’s famous Piazza and James Street.
Today, venture beyond London again to Bath, one of the most culturally rich cities in the country with a burgeoning heritage and literary significance that rivals any other. Visit the world-famous Roman Baths and admire the stunning Royal Crescent. Afterwards, stop by Stonehenge, one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe.
Depart London today for the journey home.
